So….boredom strikes me again… seems to be happening a lot as of late. Only good news for faithful readers!
Last night I went to Twilight with Steven and Mariska after we dined in a Greek place. Was a total random thought of Mariska and a damn good one! The movie is the best movie i’ve seen in years!
Normally I’m guessing what is going to happen in a movie, but with this one…. I just wanted to watch and let the story unfold to me. And the acting! Top notch! A really, really good cast.
But the best of all, there were a couple of scenes where the complete theater was dead quiet… I love that! Normally there’s always some jackass ruining the movie, but I swear…you could hear a pin drop!
So all in all, go see the movie if you haven’t done so already! you won’t be dissapointed!
Oh and if your afraid that it’s going to be a bloody mess cause of the vampires….it won’t. Thi is the most bloodless vampire movie I’ve seen in years.

As I said to Mariska last night…and I will say it again, Awesome choice!!

As for today, just playing a few games on my comp and chatting with Laura about everything and nothing….maybe I’ll trick her into Truth or Dare.
As for the games I play, I play Left 4 Dead, it’s a zombie shooter/survival game. You have a small group of 4 people that have to move from safehouse to safehouse until they hit a spot where they can be picked up. But….as you might have guessed, there are a ‘few’ zombies in their way. and with a few I mean about 500 zombies between eacht safehouse. and forget the old zombieshuffle! oh no! These deadless buggers are fast like the ones in 28 Days Later(for those who haven’t seen that movie, imagine an Olympic runner on full speed, in the hundreds!) and those are only the common ones. You have a few specials, first and foremost is the hunter….a quick, jumpy zombie that is quite though. Then you have the distended Boomer. This one honours it’s name. 2 shots and it goes boom…BUT, even though itÅ› about the size of a small car, this bag of gas is just as fast as the others, and you don’t want it close. The Smoker is a pulling bitch with his tongue thingy and when he goes down he throws up a choking smokescreen.
Then you have the Witch, this little crybaby(it’s annoying!) is something you don’t want started. ItÅ› fast, it’s though and it screams! Lastly you have the tank.. all muscle and gargantuan. takes a few aimed shots(read a few dozen) at it’s head before it falls down. Is also just as fast as the others…not firendly.
Not to shabby I hear some of you say? Well, most of the time it’s target practise, but the game has a trick for that…it’s called swarming….and god do they swarm! about 60 of the buggers charge at you at once, your better gun is emptied too quick…then it’s back to your pistol, endless ammo(thank god!) but also a lot less powerful!
When you finally reach the next safehouse in one piece, you can only worship the sturdy red door!
I love the game, really tests my reaction and aiming skills.

I decided to make this blog, cause I’m bored. I’m bored because i have to wait for the installation of a game.
So my rant mode is on

I haven’t played and tinkered on my LEGO lately. This is cause of work(and more the amount) but also because I’m having an idea and parts block.
The ideas I have are rather limited because of my prodigious lack of blocks.
I have a few ideas of how to fix this, but then I find a new problem, space. or rather the lack of it. See, my home ain’t big. It’s 45m² including the alley(it’s a jungle atm) I am supposed to call my back yard. My guess, I have about 30m² worth of living space. Almost half of that is my bedroom, which is divided into a big closet and my bed leaving a small space to walk in.
The other half is my livingroom. Which is rather impractical. I have a chimney(well, the stone part of it) which takes a rather dominant place in the whole of it. I also sits inconveniently in the middle of the livving room against the wall. infront of it is my furnace. It’s big, it’s black and it’s a big stand-in-the-way. Opposite of the Chimney is my couch. It takes up almost all of the wall. the rest of the room is divided by my rather large desk(I wub it!) and a selfbuild cabinet which towers over my TV and houses all of my books, stereo and consoles). The livingroom also sports a comfy chair(which isn’t that comfy) and a small table.

What’s left of the space is my kitchen(with fridge, washer and dryer) and behind it my toiletroom with said toilet and shower.

so I decided to do it in small steps until I cannot conrtol myself any longer and place a gargantuan order from some shop to fill the small nudges and the like with blocks.
This week I’m expecting the following sets:

– 7628 Indiana Jones: Peril in Peru
– 7979 LEGO Castle Advent Calendar

and besides that some upgrade to my machines, oh yes! machines!
i recently acquired a second computer that is now functioning as my communications comp.
It sports Linux, and uses birds for my general communication(pidgin!)
other then that…stil acquiring courage to step back into the umbrageous world of IRC. It’s filled with weird people, people like me! (that is geeks and nerds fyi) but also with all other kind of people!
My best conversations were in IRC, sad as it sounds, and they were about  Artificial Intelligence(see a few posts back) and all the greater things life has to offer.

oh and before I forget, i love thesaurus, improves my vocabulary, don’t you think?

AS I promised: Raz Legofied. i know it’s late….well actually I kept my promise, I just ‘forgot’ to make a post.
Raz can be nagging if she wants…so here it is…to the world!

 

So, today I tried an old rival of mine, renders.
Last time I had loads of work on it to get it right, but it worked out quite well if you ask me.

This time, I used a bit newer versions of software as well as a different methode to get what I wanted.

Tell me? did I succeed?

For the rest, still living vacation and I love it! all the time in the world to do what I want and going to bed when I want to(which means all night up!)
But alas, not all things can go on forever, next week I have to work like any other. Till then, LEGO ftw!
